Canadian Mint

The only native mint in North America, Canadian mint has green foliage borne on square stems typical of the Lamiaceae family. Its flowers are mauve or pink and clustered in spheres in the leaf axils.

Well known for its aromatic and medicinal properties, mint is a must-have in our gardens, but it would be wise to keep it in tubs or buried pots since it is rather invasive.

Canadian mint seeds must undergo cold stratification to ensure germination.
